Turn the Page
I’ve lived with myself long enough now to have a few things figured out...
I’m a glass-half-full girl!
I love a challenge (and often lag behind in progress if there isn’t one)
I love love LOVE all things new... new growth in spring, new people, new knowledge and new experiences
But, I have to tell you this morning when I turned the page on the calendar, I had a hard time finding anything to be happy about in this NEW month. Some of the most important moments I will ever experience as a mother, as well as several ordinary moments I love, were scheduled to happen this May. Now in place of multicolored post-it reminders, each event has a big slash mark running through it.
This, my friends, has the opportunity to be one of the darkest months of my life.
I’d be lying if I told you I didn’t take a few moments to be angry.
And I’d be lying again if I told you there weren’t any tears this morning,
Cancellations in order, by date of the original event...
May 3~ Jennifer’s Birthday. Time for our monthly girls night out!
May 9~ Sam’s Graduation from WPU!
May 10~ Mother’s Day
May 13~ Mom’s Birthday!
May 14~ Color and Final up-do practice with Laura
May 16~ Fly to Greece (with stops in Atlanta and Paris!)
May 20~ Zach ❤️ Katherine- Wedding Day!!!
May 23~ Fly home (with a stop in NYC!)
May 26~ Memorial Day! Summer!!
May 29~ Madi’s Birthday
All canceled or altered or on hold...
This is way too many x’s for my peace of mind. There is no changing my reality... things are not going to happen as planned, so to push away the clouds of darkness I’ve set a challenge for myself.
I’m going to find, photograph, and post something that fills my heart every day this month.
I’m sharing with you, so I have to do it, even on the darkest of days.
Through these moments I’m praying I find reminders of my many blessings.
