The Look of Love
“Love one another.” ~John 13:34
Sometimes it’s just so hard… it’s not necessarily hard to love one another, but rather to understand.
And lack of understanding often feels like a lack of loving.
In this time of unrest and fear, it becomes more important to love. But what does that look like in a world that stands six feet apart? How can we show our love for one another?
~ Listen to learn- listen to understand. Ask questions rather than impose opinions.
~ Share yourself- social distancing applies here! Swap stories and share memories via facetime.
~ Have fun- It’s never been more important to laugh:
Knock knock. Who’s there? Cows go. Cows go who? No, silly, cows go moo!!
What do you call a snowman on spring break? A puddle!
Knock knock. Who’s there? Spell. Spell who? OK! W-H-O
Why did the student eat his homework? His teacher said it was a piece of cake!
ok… sorry, back to business.
~ Observe- Take some time outside, search for hidden beauty and signs of spring. Take photos of unexpected treasures that bring you joy. Or close your eyes and listen. Right now as I pause typing, I can hear the first real spring rain begin to tap on the window.
~ Surprise someone- Many things have been postponed… maybe we can advance May Day this year with a gift on your neighbor’s doorstep or a note in their mailbox.
Give those you’re blessed to be “stuck” with your undivided attention by silencing your phone and checking out of your social media/news apps for awhile. Make this time of memories by finding ways to love one another during these days at home.
xoxo
be happy,
Kim
