Grace in Grief by Tina Akridge
Hi.
I’m Tina Akridge, a daughter of Abba’s, totally dependent on and in adoration of His Presence and Grace! He gave me the honor of being married to an intentional man, and we had the privilege of raising godly men and women for Him!
In the last decade, we walked through the challenge of a Sarcoma diagnosis and braved the many ripple effects of cancer with grit and grace.
My husband is now in Heaven, and our eight-year battle has ended. I’ve observed God’s Presence and grace and am now charged with proclaiming His faithfulness!
“...my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.” Psalm 45:1
I spend my time encouraging women in their faith to know Him intimately, even in hardship, to rest in His arms through the ups and downs of life, and to allow Abba to grow us in our faith for His glory.
I have a devotional, Grace in Grief; A 100-Day Journey Exploring God’s Tender Response to Loss.
I also do Speaking Engagements and offer talks on Grief, Marriage, and
Parenting Adult Children.
Who I Write For
Since I began this journey of writing Grace in Grief, I’ve been asked a thousand times, “Who do you write for?” I write for me. It pulls me into His Truth and heals my brokenness. I write for the one in the throes of grief and hardship, who desperately needs a lifeline and an honest, gracious companion. I write for Him, that His Name would be glorified. He is so faithful. His steadfast love remains through every high and every low and all the mundane in between.
Why I Write
This book comes out of the deepest, darkest places my grief took me. With Abba Father as my guide, the truths, brokenness, healing, raw honest emotions, and realities of grief were submitted to the authority and sovereignty of Almighty; my Father, Creator, Savior, Husband, and Friend. It is written to serve as a companion for the one who can’t see, hear, or comprehend the love of her God but desperately wants to.
Where is God when we suffer? What does He do for us and say about us in our grief? How does He feel about us when we feel nothing and everything all at once? He loves us. He is right beside us, inside us, all around us. His faithfulness is astonishing and healing, and it is for us. Grace in Grief was written to be a beacon of truth in the darkest moments of life.
