My Owner's Manual by Kim Mosiman
As a new year approaches, it’s easy to fall into the familiar resolution cycle.
We set goals, convinced this will finally be the year we achieve them. But by February, many of those promises are forgotten, leaving us feeling frustrated and defeated. What if there were a better way to move forward—one that empowers you to connect with your goals, celebrate progress, and honor your journey?
This year, say goodbye to resolutions and hello to a fresh approach: creating a yearly journal that becomes your personal guide to health and wellness. This journal is more than a collection of notes; it’s an “Owner’s Manual” for your unique health journey. By using it to reflect, track, and plan, you can take control of your health while staying true to your personal needs and values.
Journaling helps you connect deeply with your goals. Write down what you hope to achieve—not just lofty ambitions but specific, actionable habits that feel meaningful to you. Maybe you want to improve your nutrition, incorporate daily movement, or manage stress more effectively. With a journal, you can visualize these goals and map out small steps to achieve them.
Your journal also serves as a space to celebrate progress. Whether it’s drinking more water, walking an extra mile, or simply getting better sleep, every small win matters. Acknowledging these victories keeps you motivated and reminds you that growth happens gradually.
Finally, a journal lets you honor your journey by reflecting on your experiences and lessons. Life isn’t a straight path to perfection—it’s a series of steps, challenges, and discoveries. Use your journal to document what works for you, what doesn’t, and how you’re adapting along the way.
For those managing medical decisions or specific health concerns, this journal becomes even more powerful. Use it to track symptoms, document questions for healthcare providers, and keep a record of medications or treatments. It’s your personal Owner’s Manual, helping you advocate for yourself with confidence and clarity.
This year, don’t just make resolutions—create a plan that honors where you’ve been, celebrates where you are, and empowers where you’re going. Invest in a journal and take the first step toward taking control of your health, one intentional page at a time.
Your journey is worth documenting. Start yours today.
About Kim:
Kim Mosiman is a woman smack dab in the middle of her second act: Her children are grown and joyfully living lives of their own. She enjoys writing, traveling with her husband, Jeff, and perfecting her technique in her new role as Nana.
She is a certified nutritionist and personal trainer who closed her small boutique gym in 2017. She thought she was ready to retire and fade into the sunset, but the sudden career change created a lack of purpose in her life. She was alone during the day and abandoned the good habits she had counted on for many years. As a lifelong coach, she recognized the signals of decline and slowly turned her health back around by adding small, sustainable practices into her daily routine.
She documented her journey and felt called to share her story. Her first book, Reflections of Joy, was released in May 2024. Kim nudges readers to let go of the things that have held them back so they can explore the world of opportunities available to women in their middle years. She recently released a companion journal, My Owner's Manual, to help women learn the importance of gathering data in their quest to age well and stay healthy.
Kim became a certified Christian life coach in 2023 and has recently expanded her offerings to include wellness coaching and helping new authors launch their books into the world.
